TeachCentive protects the personal account information of every teacher and administrator who signs in, alongside the district-level protections described in our Security & Privacy overview.

Privacy Policy

TeachCentive LLC (“TeachCentive,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you visit teachcentive.com, sign in to the TeachCentive platform, or otherwise interact with our services.

This Privacy Policy applies to visitors of our website and to individual users of the TeachCentive platform (teachers, campus administrators, and district administrators). It is distinct from, and works alongside, the Data Sharing Agreement each district signs before using TeachCentive, which governs the district’s institutional student, staff, and program data. This Privacy Policy specifically covers the personal account information collected when an individual signs in to TeachCentive.

Information We Collect

Account sign-in information

When you sign in to TeachCentive using your district’s Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace account, we receive the following information directly from Microsoft or Google, only after you have authenticated with them and granted permission: your name, your email address, a unique, permanent account identifier issued by Microsoft or Google, and your organization’s tenant or domain identifier. We do not receive, request, or store your Microsoft or Google password. Authentication happens entirely on Microsoft’s or Google’s own servers; TeachCentive only receives a signed confirmation of your identity.

Website information

When you visit teachcentive.com, our hosting platform may collect standard, cookie-free analytics such as page views and general visit patterns. We do not use cookie-based advertising or tracking technologies on our public website.

Platform usage information

Once signed in, TeachCentive records information necessary to operate the platform’s features on your district’s behalf, including your assigned role, login timestamps, and the specific data your district has entered or uploaded as part of its use of the applicable service, governed separately by your district’s Data Sharing Agreement.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above only to:

• Authenticate your identity and confirm you belong to a registered district.
• Assign you the correct role and level of access within the platform.
• Operate, maintain, and improve the TeachCentive platform.
• Communicate with you about your account or your district’s use of the platform.
• Comply with the terms of your district’s signed agreement with TeachCentive.

We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use your account information for advertising.
We do not use your Google or Microsoft account data, or any data you enter into the platform, to train any AI model. Not TeachCentive’s, not Microsoft’s, not any other company’s.

How We Share Information

We do not share your personal account information with third parties, except:

• With Microsoft Azure, our cloud infrastructure provider, solely to host and operate the platform.
• When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TeachCentive, our users, or others.
• With your own district’s authorized administrators, as a normal function of the platform’s role-based access design.

We never share your information with other districts, with advertisers, or with any third party for their own independent use.

Data Storage and Security

All TeachCentive platform data, including account sign-in information, is hosted on Microsoft Azure in a defined U.S. region. Access to the platform is protected using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, and every user’s visibility into data is limited by their assigned role. Data Retention

Your individual account information is retained for as long as you have an active account with a participating district. If your district’s contract with TeachCentive ends, account and district data are retained only for the period specified in that district’s Data Sharing Agreement, after which it is removed.

Your Rights and Choices

You may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate information, or to request deletion of your account information, subject to any retention obligations under your district’s agreement with us. To make a request, contact us using the information below.

Children’s Privacy

TeachCentive is intended for use by school district staff (teachers and administrators), not by students, and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the sign-in process described in this policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify users directly. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
